Le téléfilm réalisé par Henri Helman a été adapté du roman de James Hadley Chase et raconte le quotidien de Laurence Delcourt, ancienne pianiste internationale, veuve d’un milliardaire. Sa fortune, qu’elle gère depuis sa magnifique demeure de Cannes, est courtisée de toutes parts et notamment par son banquier, incarné par Olivier Minne.

Le pitch ? Son banquier, Philippe lui présente une nouvelle dame de compagnie, Véra Balmer (incarnée par Romane Portail), dont la beauté lui rappelle celle de sa jeunesse. Véra Balmer va se rendre tout de suite indispensable. L’entourage de Laurence Delcourt, composé de son chauffeur, son notaire, son banquier et sa dame de compagnie, lui veut du bien. Beaucoup de bien…Trop peut-être ?

Réponse avec la diffusion du téléfilm dès 20h35 sur France 3, mardi 5 juin. L’occasion de retrouver la grande Line Renaud, qui avait foulé avec brio les planches dans la pièce Harold et Maude.
